Griffiths & Armour, in association with Berrymans Lace Mawer and the Architects Journal (AJ), recently gathered a panel of architectural industry experts to debate contractual liability, and how this significant business risk can impact negatively and inequitably on architects and wider construction consultants.
The guests of the Roundtable were sent a copy of our latest risk management publication ‘Contractual Liability Claims – Lessons to be Learned’ before the discussion. The publication presented the guests with some background on real examples of claims where contract terms have left consultants open to the particular risk presented in onerous contract terms. This then fuelled the debate on topics such as: indemnity and strict liability and net contribution.
